My sorrow to Gambella Anyuak Community: Samson Ogala

April 07, 2013 (GSN) - We realize that, it’s time to stop hoping and waiting for something or someone to change us or for the happiness, safety and security to come galloping over Gambella. We have come to the fact that, there aren't always fairytale endings (or there is beginning for any matter) and that any guarantee of "freedom ever after" must begin with you and me.

We have to think that a sense of serenity is born of acceptance. So you begin making our way of freedom through the "reality of what is happening in Gambella especially to Anyuak today" rather than holding out our Anyuakism “promise of tomorrow." Without work.  You have seen that much of our people are killed, tortured and jailed every day in the hand of TPLF/EPRDF and we keep watching their death.  And we have seen the navigate life for the sons of Gambella is difficult and great pain, the results of all the social conditions we've received over the past lifetime. And we begin to sift through all those nonsense they have taught us about. Slowly they will finish us and the ancestor land we are always talking about will be taken. We have to begin to open up our new mind and thinking of the century world and different points of view to begin re-assessing and re-defining how we are and what we really believe in?  And we shall discard the doctrines they wanted outgrown and practiced on us. If we accept the fact within us we are not perfect, and that not every one of us will love, appreciate or approve of who or what we are... and this's in every one entitled to his own view and opinion. And, we come to the fact that we will never be the way they wanted us to be.

Let take a long look at ourselves we are so different in everything except Jesus we believe in God put us the way we are and make a promise to give us this image and unconditional love to that land he gives so freely to us like others so we are confidence of how we are.  We are so angry and at the same time mourning for what Ethiopia government doing to us.  I personally encourage the late family, parents, best friends who have image of freedom, right and equality should stay calm. Our hero Omod Ojullu Odol has discovered the way which we all should know that it is truly freedom lover by giving his own life for the joy and abundance life to Gambellan. He has planted and grows the seed of freedom in us. This is not simple thing he has done and might the almighty God blessed him, things that millions of people from Anyuaks upon the earth can only dream about – and now is up on us the choice and the opportunity to pursue our own dreams. TPLF/EPRDF government has known that we begin to love wealth, leadership and we start engaging in self-destructive behaviors, including participating in dysfunctional clanship and kingship in our one Anyuak land. Because of all these, they lay fatigue drains and creates doubt to finish ourselves by ourselves.  And they wanted to keep our Ego in control and redirect us to our own the destructive - anger, jealousy and resentment of our natural resource. Now we have learned how to say "This is wrong" and “We want this way” thinking that they will overcome our own human frailties. Moreover, we have learned that our people whom are in leadership’s position to say no are not projecting our needs or securities.

The sudden accident to our late, brother Omod Ojulu Odol wasn’t wrong to demand for the freedom of Gambellan. That he has given his life or sacrifice his dreams for the millions of us needs, standards and expectations. We shall keep his unrequited wishes in trapped. life isn't always fair and we don't always get what we think we deserve and seeking for we have to accept that sometimes bad things will happen to good people like our late, brother Omod Ojulu Odol.

Finally, with courage in your heart and with God by your side we take a stand, and we begin to design the future of Gambella we want to be as best as we can.

Words of Prayer: In some of my darkest, most painful and frightening hours, I have prayed, not for the answers to my prayers or for material things, but for my "God" to help us find the strength, confidence and courage to persevere; to face each day and to do what we must do.

Let pray that: - The spirit of God resides within us and moves through us. Let’s open our heart, speak to almighty spirit He will empower us. God will never fail us.
