Ethiopia Declares Two Days of National Mourning for Gambella Attack Victims

The Ethiopian House of Peoples Representatives declared a two days of national mourning starting from tomorrow Wednesday April 20, 2016, for the victims of Gambella attack.

Ethiopian flags in all regional states, and two city administrations and in all Ethiopian Embassies and on Ethiopian owned ships will be flown half-mast  for the respect of the victims.

About 182 innocent civilians were killed by a cross-border attack carried out by Murle gunmen in three districts of Nuer zone, Gambella regional state. About 108 children were also abducted by the gunmen.

Ethiopian defense force has been taking measure against the attackers and so far killed 60 gunmen.
Currently, the defense force intensified its operation to free the kidnapped children.
