Rochester, MN, April 22, 2016 (GSN) - On behave of the Gambella Diaspora Association (GDA), we are here to condemn the barbaric acts carried out on Gambella civilians by Murle tribe from the Republic of South Sudan.
This killing of innocent civilians was very disturbing. We are extremely shocked, outraged, and indignities at such an abhorrent ferocity act on our land. According to eyewitness, these groups were well equipped with heavy machines guns and dressed with military uniforms similar to uniforms of the armies of South Sudan.
We, the Gambellans in Diaspora, would ask Ethiopian communities at large to express join condolences to the families and friends of the victims.We are torn by this great tragedy; and we strongly support the worldwide protest to express our outrage and condemnation of this ferocious act driven by enmity against humanity. Therefore, the Gambellans in Diaspora would like to express our full support for whatever the Federal Government of Ethiopia deemed necessary to return the kidnapped children to their beloved parents. Further, we are very grateful for the government of Gambella Regional State for it’s unanimously expression in support to the Federal Government of Ethiopia to carry out intensive operations and investigations on these crimes.
If there is involvement or supportive entities for such vindictive rhetoric, they should be brought into justice. Such a cowardice action is an indication of country invasion and there should be no boarder limit for the revenge. We, the Gambella people in Diaspora cannot tolerate such act to happen on the land of our country. With our trust and confidence in the government of Ethiopia, the criminals will be brought to justice.
