Juba,  February 13, 2016 (GSN)  - Gen. James Wani Igga was sworn-in on Friday a day after his relieve and re-appointment to the new post. President Kiir relieved Igga on Thursday as the second top man in the government and re-appointed him in the third top position as a Vice President in a presidential decree number 61 a decision that Igga has welcomed.

Addis Ababa, February 07, 2015 (GSN) – Officials of the armed opposition faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM-IO) have denied allegations that a number of their senior officers have been kept in detention by the Ethiopian authorities.

 Mogadishu, February 3, 2016 (GSN) - A passenger plane has made an emergency landing in Somalia's capital with a gaping hole in its fuselage.

The hole in the plane's side appeared shortly after take-off from Mogadishu at 10,000ft (3,048m), a colleague of one of the passengers told the BBC.

It is not clear what caused the damage. Officials say two passengers were hurt.
